These stunning petrified wood pieces are born from the explosive volcanoes in Borneo, Sumatra & Central Java, which were active between 5 -15 million years ago.
The silica found in volcanic ash dissolves and gradually replaces the wood molecule after molecule, by minerals such as quartz, agate or marble, hence preserving the shape of the trees and even their cells.
Each dish is unique, with its own natural pattern and colour variations that make it one-of-a-kind. The natural and earthy feel of the dish makes it a perfect addition to any decor.
Use it to display decorative objects, as a catch-all for keys or as a beautiful accent piece on a coffee table or bookshelf. It is sure to be a conversation starter and a timeless addition to any home.
