Padauk Wood Incense Holder
Padauk Wood Incense Holder
Introducing the 'In-Between Worlds' collection, a unique collaboration between Terra Cruda and Relic Form.
Each incense holder is meticulously carved from Padauk wood (Pterocarpus), known for its straight, sometimes interlocked grain, coarse open texture, and natural lustre.
The wood, sourced from a wise material supplier who collects fine timbers from the remnants of logging areas in Tasmania and Victoria, boasts an exotic heritage from central and east Africa. Each holder is crafted from the same piece of wood, ensuring a harmonious aesthetic.
These versatile pieces can serve various functions—an incense holder, ring dish, or herb dish—reflecting the subjective interpretation of the user. They embody ancient carving techniques fused with contemporary design, featuring organic plant fibre stitchings from a cabbage palm tree for reinforcement, echoing the natural theme.
